Running your own ARK server
There are two ways to get your own server: rent a ready-made game server or run it yourself on a root server.
Rented server
Getting started is easy, but performance and access are often limited.
Your own root server
You have full control and can connect several maps into a cluster. In return you handle updates, backups and restarts yourself. Plan enough RAM per map; ASA needs much more than older ARK servers.
Simplify administration
The Vikingard ARK ServerManager handles updates, backups and restarts on Windows. It comes from the same team as this list and can be tried free for 7 days.
